Equipment:
Nikon D800. Nikon AF-S II 500 mm f/4D (non-VR), no tripod used. Camera settings: Dynamic-Area autofocus (9 points), continuous servo autofocus ("AF-C"), drive mode "CH" (continuous high speed, 4fps); "A" mode (aperture priority) set to f/5.6 (this value can be locked in the menu to prevent accidental changes); "AUTO ISO" on (base sensitivity ISO 320 in the morning, ISO 200 in the afternoon, maximum ISO value set to 800, maximum shutter speed set to 1/1250s); center weighted metering mode, vignetting removal set to normal. Note: The base sensitivity for the AUTO ISO function matters: The camera never dials a value smaller than the base ISO, even in good light.
