Fig.19a - A rather unspectacular photo of the close conjunction of the planets Mars and Uranus on February 27, 2017. Exposure time was 4 s at ISO 800. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 450D Baader modified camera, a TeleVue Paracorr Type II coma corrector and an 8" f/4.5 Uli Vedder dobsonian telescope riding on a Tom Osypowski equatorial platform.
Fig.19b - Image of the moon, taken on November 2, 2014. The image has exactly the same field of view as the image above (for comparison purposes). The exposure time was 1/800 s at ISO 800. Taken with a Canon EOS 450D Baader modified camera and a TeleVue Paracorr Type II coma corrector through an 8" f/4.5 Uli Vedder dobsonian telescope with no mount and no guiding.
