NGC 6781 Aql 19h18m / +06°32' 1.8' x 1.8' 11.4mag

The planetary nebula NGC 6781 in the constellation Aquila (Eagle) on July 10 / 11, 2013. The nebula's distance to Earth is approximately 3,000 light years. NGC 6781 was discovered by William Herschel in 1788 (source: Wikipedia).

Seventeen 3 minute exposures at ISO 800 were added for this shot with the DeepSkyStacker software (resulting in a 54 minute exposure) and the final image processing was done in Photoshop.
Equipment: Canon EOS 450D Baader modified camera, TeleVue Paracorr Type II coma corrector, 16" f/4.5 "Ninja" dobsonian telescope riding on a dual-axis Tom Osypowski equatorial platform, Lacerta MGEN autoguider, Lacerta off axis system (field of view comparison: image of the moon with the same equipment).
